Sunday December 1st 2019
I can’t believe it is December already. The first day of December was overcast with a high in the low fifties. Occasionally filtered sun allowed shadows to form, but for the most part it was just a dreary day.
There is a lot of turnover going on in the RV park. I’m not sure if it’s because the holiday is over and people are ready to travel again or if it’s because of the new month. There are several more empty sites today. Some were filled during the day, but in general I think there are more empty sites tonight than there have been since I arrived at the end of October. Maybe the sites will be filled by people traveling south after enjoying the holiday with their families.
I watched football on TV most of the daylight hours today. Toward evening I drove out to the Ethel-M Chocolates Cactus Garden to see the decorations on the all of the cactus. The celebration has been going on since November 5th, but I held off until now to visit. December 1st is at least in the middle of the Holiday season. I arrived just before dark, but many other people had already arrived. At least three of the factory parking lots were full when I was leaving. I’m sharing some of the many pictures I took in hope that it will convey the magnitude of the immersive experience.
