Flowers, Butterflies and Fireworks

Tuesday April 30th 2024

Today’s big activity was a late day visit to Disney’s EPCOT. I got there a little after 4PM and stayed until the Luminous Fireworks, Laser and Fountain show was over around 9:30PM. The International Flower and Garden Festival is still in full swing. I took lots of pictures of Flowers, Topiaries, Butterflies and the Fireworks. It is late in the evening as I’m writing this blog entry, so I’m going to just present the pictures in this blog entry. Tomorrow, I may write more about my visit to Epcot.

  1. The topiaries are amazing – especially Snow White with her yellow dress. Some of the flowers are exquisite – stunning work by nature. And how did you ever get so many pictures of butterflies? They always seem to flutter away quickly when I am trying to take their photo. And lastly, the fireworks look amazing – especially the colored fountains. It reminds me of the “Fireworks and Fountains” show at Longwood Gardens – a show I’ll never forget. I like how you visit Disney – many short visits rather than trying to cram it all into a small number of days. Too bad my husband and I can’t get an annual pass – at least one that doesn’t cost $1400.

    • There were so many butterflies in the tent yesterday that it was hard to find a plant that didn’t have a butterfly on it. Still, I missed capturing as many as I got. The overall fireworks show is great. The use of lasers and fountains to complement the fireworks really works well and of course the great musical score ties it all together. For actual big fireworks shells exploding in the sky the show at the Magic Kingdom has a lot more.
I agree it is very hard to justify the top of the line annual pass that is available to out of state residents. I’m sure that is part of Disney’s market analysis.
