The Ducks are Back

Wednesday June 28th 2023

It was a little less humid than yesterday, but the actual temperature was a degree or two warmer. The result was a slightly more comfortable day. The weather trend is increasing temperatures every day this week.

Both of my walks today were back to full length. I worked at the beginning of the week to update my hydration to make sure I was OK out in some of the heat. It seems to have worked. As a reward for my return to walking, the ducks were back. They disappeared on Monday coincident with the landscape crew mowing the grass. Today they were back in their usual places along the banks of the front retention pond. They take advantage of the trees to stay out of the sun and the water to keep cool as well.

Interstate 95 had stopped traffic when I ventured out on some errands this afternoon. I spotted the traffic issue soon enough and took local roads instead. The traffic was bad on the local roads as well. It might have been easier to suffer the stopped traffic on the highway. There is major construction two exits south at the intersection of Interstate 95 and 295. If anything happens in the construction zone everything gets backed up.

This is a blurry picture of a raccoon. During my evening walk, it came out of the brush on the side of the road about twenty feet in front of me. He took one look at me and picked up the pace across the road. This is the best picture I could get.
